Bridal Gown Alterations

Every bride is unique and your wedding dress needs a fit as unique as you. Whether your gown needs taking in, letting out, hemming, or more complete alterations our four stage process is designed to help you not only look your best but feel your best on your big day.

At our studio in Addington, Christchurch we offer a bespoke bridal alterations service, where every gown is fitted and altered by hand. We approach each gown and each client individually and come up with solutions suitable for you and what you need from your gown. The first step is our free, no obligation consultation, where we look at your gown and make recommendations for alterations.

The Process

  1. The Consultation

We meet in our studio to see the gown in person. We walk through the gown and timeline, and we recommend changes and talk through anything you might like to add to your gown. This is a pressure free conversation where we get to know you and what’s important to you on your wedding day. We always recommend you take all the time you need to make a decision, and of course you don’t have to take the recommendations we make.

2. The Progress Fitting

After we have completed the first set of alterations we have another fitting appointment. This is a special part of the service we offer as it allows you see the gown come together and we can take the opportunity to make any other changes you might like. Depending on your gown and the alterations we are making you may need more than one progress fitting.

3. The Final Fit

Meet your wedding dress! In this appointment the dress is completely finished and sculpted for you. We will try it on one last time to make sure it’s perfect and then you can take it home or leave it with us until closer to your wedding day.

4. The Pick Up

We offer a free storage service for our bridal clients. If you would like to keep your gown away from any kids, pets, or fiancés’ at you house, you can store it safely with us.
