Mother of the Bride Dress Alterations
Finding the right dress is only half the journey, the right fit is what makes you feel truly confident on the day. At Dear Stranger Studio we tailor your Mother of the Bride gown with the same care and attention we give to all our gowns. We can take the gown in, let it out, adjust the hemline and take up the straps as well as adding anything else you might like. We want you to feel elegant, confident and present from the ceremony through to the last dance. If you haven’t yet found the perfect dress we also offer a custom design service.
The Process
The Consultation
We meet in our studio to see the outfit in person. This is a no pressure conversation about what you want to change and we recommend any changes we think might work for you.
The Progress Fitting
After making the changes we discussed we meet again to make sure everything it’s perfect. We will make more tweaks if we need them in this appointment. We might need a couple of progress fittings depending on your outfit and what we are changing.
The Final Fit
Meet your final dress! In this appointment the outfit is completely finished. We will try it on one last time to make sure its perfect and then you can take it come or leave it with us until closer to your wedding day if you prefer

How much alterations cost depends a lot on the outfit you have however typically alterations ranges between $200-$600.

Absolutely! Consultations are a good opportunity to find out the cost of any alterations but you are always welcome to go away and have a think about the alterations.

Yes, feel free to bring anything you might like to wear and we can talk through the different options and figure out what is right for you

Alterations can be booked anytime you like but we recommend you book in at least 6 weeks in advance of the wedding.
